Day 2: Woodbridge VA to Winchester, VA

View Bicycling directions to Winchester, VA in a larger map

Virginia is one of the most beautiful states I have had the privilege to cycle through. While Woodbridge is a sprawling mass of suburbs which revolve around D.C. A short ride out gives way to rolling green hills, well kept roads, with intermittent towns full of history. Every few miles a sign telling of Civil War generals, heroes and battles. Some significant like the battle of Manaess, others less so like "Mr. Chandley" the epic "Indian fighter". Anyways, regardless of the historical value, the ride was quite nice. After sixty miles or so, we were ready to arrive in Winchester. The nice thing about having a large extended family is that you always have place to stay. In Winchester we stayed with our uncle Marlin who provided not only with a warm bed and shower for us, but also a trip to "sweet frog" a Chipotleisque soft serve ice cream shop. more fuel for our legs. That night, Andrews father, my uncle titus drove down with my aunt and our cousin daniel so they can join us for day three, Winchester to Grantsville. here are some pics from Day 2
